A few months ago, my son and I (Drake) were playing a board game. We were enjoying the time together and the challenge that was before us. However, after an hour of playing, we were not making any progress. The time was getting late, I was getting sleepy and it was past my sons bedtime.
Finally, realizing we were no where near completion, my wife (Alyssa) sat down beside us. She easily recognized that I was not reading the game manual correctly. Due to my desire to achieve instant success and defeat the game in record time, I rushed through the instruction manual and hindered the progress in our game.
Spiritual growth is no game. Becoming strengthened in the faith is not easy and cannot be rushed. However, God has not left us alone to figure out how we can grow in our faith. This Sunday at First Baptist Church of Carmi, we will continue our journey through Colossians and answer the question "How can we grow in our faith?"
