Look Ahead: November 14, 2021

Staring at the word "Dialing", I remember patiently sitting at my computer waiting to connect to the World Wide Web through AOL. As the ear piercing sound of the dial-up connection rang forth like someone slowly scratching their finger nails down a chalkboard, eventually the computer was connected and the excitement of surfing through cyberspace began.

For many today, there's almost an instant connection. It doesn't matter it you're driving, flying, walking, sleeping, instant connection is becoming more and more accessible.

Spiritual growth, however, is not instant. The moment you became a Christian, you did not instantly mature in your faith. When you placed your faith in Jesus, you started on a journey. This Sunday at First Baptist Church of Carmi, we will learn what Christians face in the long journey in our faith. So make plans to join us as we worship God together, fellowship with each other, and hear from God's Word.

Sermon Passage:

Acts 23:12-25; Acts 24:1-27

Sermon Question:

What will the church/Christians face in the long journey forward in our faith?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for saving me to be conformed into the image of Jesus. Yet, the journey before me is long. I ask for courage for the long journey forward. May you guide each step that is before me so that You receive the glory. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
