The resurrection of Jesus Christ displayed the power of God over death. Our enemy has been forever defeated and our Savior reigning eternally. By God's grace, we will gather Sunday and celebrate - He Is Risen!
So why will Sunday's sermon topic focus on "love"? The obvious answer is simply because our next section in Ephesians 3:14-19 centers on Christ's love. Additionally, the Easter season is a grand demonstration of the love of Christ. Romans 5:8 says, "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." The cross and empty tomb not only shows God's power over sin and death, they also proclaim God's perfect love for us.
This Sunday, as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we will also see that the love of Christ strengthens the church in our work for God.
